Now for contemplative words. I asked for a big strong man, affectionate and confident to share life with. I simply forgot to say human! Luca has taught me to slow down and lay back to savor the joys of this walk on Earth. To be playful and learn to say “No”. We both like lots of good water, being pet and a bowl full of tasty food. Sweet and warm. Big storm was a’comin’. So I checked on the bees, still alive! Wrapped them up a bit, brought wood in for the stove, filled the refrigerator with staples and organic everything, and some good red wine. I was completely content with my own company for 4 days. I want a diploma!

Preparing for the many feet of snow and cheek-cracking cold was achieved with the help of friends. I never take money for doing rituals, and receive offers of assistance with a “Yes please.” so much more easily when those souls offer kindnesses. There is a beauty in the interchange. The fire ceremony, prayers and herbs to the flame to connect with a soul. The realms of existence thin in the gloaming. Those having shed their skin needing direction or those walking this earth needing to say words. The light of the fire ignites a connection and the smoke carries the messages. I simply am.

I also feel between the realms in this monumental work with William’s thoughts, teachings, quirkiness and brilliance. The LeSassier books are divided and ready for fresh eyes to move toward publication. I need experienced clinical herbalists, those who studied with any of William’s students most desirable! This is not budding herbalists work. We need to sit together to ask and answer questions where the word is smudged or misspelled or missing. Organ indications and knitting his students words, his and all the magic he left for us to sort through. This is diagnostics and weaving it into a comprehensive tapestry. Together we laugh at his wry wit, and shed a few tears for his departing so young, deprived of the years of sitting at his knee.

Students will learn on the land, with hands on and in the soil, as she shares over thirty years of working with herbs, her own studies commencing at my knee when she was a young teen. A registered UpS Botanical Sanctuary, her home nestled in the woods is a true sanctuary for our beloved plants.
She has lived with their influences since birth, their roots growing deeper within her as a teen living with us in Marblehead, grateful to have David Winston, Rosemary Gladstar, Kate Gilday and William LeSassier influence her very wonderful heart and brain. Live learning is best!
