Oh, Delicious Spring!

Oh, delicious spring!

The winds are swirling, rains moistening the terrain and our friends Solomon’s seal, Epimedium, Trillium, Bloodroot and Lung wort are growing inches each day.  So, breath deeply heart filling.  My standup bass playing friend Sean Farias, who also cares for the lands, was blown away with the simple recipe of Olive oil and her rhyzomes to keep his ligaments and muscles happy.

Solomon’s Seal Oil Preparation

Walk the land until you find an established gathering of Solomon’s seal. Make an offering, I offer my hair, a prayer, song, sip of water, whatever is respectful and meaningful to you. Then ask “May I gather you to make an oil, or tincture for my friends to help muscles and ligaments?”  Listen for the yes. The rhyzome does not like to be dug with metal.  (Thank you Karyn Sanders) A dropped deer antler, wooden tool or other clever tool will ease the root out. Try to take the root from the center of the gathering to create space for new expansion.

Rince or brush the dirt off.  Set the root out on a wooden cutting board, slice like carrot rounds, on the diagonal, and allow to dry overnight.

Place the roots in a double boiler and cover with olive oil.  Simmer, cover at an angle so it does not boil, for 4 hours.  A stainless bowl fitting over a saucepan with water works well. Do not allow the water to touch the bottom of the bowl.

Strain with a painter’s bag or chinois.  Store in a sterile bottle. Label with the date.  Use as skin oil or add to body products.

The mark, the roots, can be added to your evening meal as an addition to sauces or use a hand blender to add to soups. About one ounce per person. Freeze leftovers.

The gifts and powers of our kin emerge to assist with birthing (Trillium), fertility with fortitude (Epimedium) pleasurable endurance (Solomon’s seal and Epimedium, think cordials) and Lungwort to express what you really want.

What I have really wanted these past years is to complete compiling, transcribing and organizing the work of the late great William LeSassier.  In this season his thoughts and writings, tapes and notes of favored students, have burst forth from the humus and we are into the next stage of placing materials into books.  Our transcribers are churning out the color codes for each with commendable, star-studded efficiency.  Tavish, sitting like Buddha, directs and keeps all in order.  He also reads me clearly and sends me off to the garden or a walk or a cup of my adored espresso. Calm.

Our next Sitting at Table will be May 25 to 29.  Come and join us!  Call me 781-888-4312 or email margiflint117@gmail.com if you can offer a day or more. It is an amazing opportunity to learn from William and figure out mysteries with our hive mind.

The figwort is also two feet high. What an interesting plant! Ki has delicious flowers when eaten fresh from the tips and leave that smell just horrible.  What does Ki offer us humans?  Make a tincture and consume your dowsed number of drops 3-drops1 to 3 times daily to dissolve masses from the neck up.  Interesting, eh?

Now all hardnesses are dissolved and the words flow easily and the sweetness of life, education, sharing and evolving continue.  The purpose is for us to join together in peace to share his wisdom and the wisdom of our ancestors, the plants.  Soft and tenderly powerful.

More? The Legacy Teachers are completing the Reading the Body Course and graduates will bloom soon. Come to learn facial diagnostics in person. William’s foundation holds us all.

May his legacy live on!
